This is a brand new blog for the Tribe Church in LA, just kicked off this week to be in time to help capture some of the details of Tribe's involvement at Burning Man.
Jimmy5 did a great job setting up design and other parts of the blog, and we hope he can do some remote blogging from the Playa...and here is where we will post pictures and stories from "Playa con Dios..." And after folks are back you should see a lot of different postings from folks who want to...and everyone can begin adding their additions to the blog via comments and open threads that we'll set up.
It is a work in progress, and we hope you find it a good on line place to spend some time, join in conversation, and bring up ways it could be better. Like all blogs, it really isn't meant to be a monologue -- it should be a dialog at least, at a better analogy might be that of a multi part chorus or jazz band... Chime in, improv here.
We'll be adding more photos, lists of books and music you all recommend, and lots more.
Hard to predict what this blog will morph into, but let's all find out together...
Tim

Fabulous!

Annette and I have both posted information on the tribela yahoo group regarding LAFSC alumni Chris "b" Wilson's family and needs.
Chris was with his family in New Orleans but returned to L.A. since he is the only one in the family now working. Both sides of his parents' families lost everything. His father's brothers have not been located yet. This could be a real family to whom we could give cash as assistance.
I would like to suggest that we should consider giving the Fifi and Fido clothing that has been donated to us by the designer for children (Red Cross?). We have intended to sell it for Tribe's financial needs but would people be willing to donate it instead? If it were sold at the Neiman Marcus prices it would be between $5000-10,000 worth of clothing. We will, however, never ask or receive that much. What do others think?
BTW, great job, Tim. Thanks!!!

I think donating the clothing from Fifi & Fido is a wonderful idea! In fact Maggie had mentioned something along those lines to me awhile back even before Katrina hit. Let's do it! How, exactly does one make a donation to the Red Cross? or do we pack up Eric and send him cross-country with the goods? Imagine him riding his bike with how many back-packs would the clothing take? Ha! (giggle, snort). sorry.
I fully support this gesture and maintain my donation to the boot to go along with these necessities.
